Hurricane Irma, the largest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded, peppered many of the small Caribbean islands have been completely devastated by the Category 5 storm.
The latest NOAA Hurricane Irma path updates has the eye of the storm heading just north of Cuba as it heads towards Miami, Florida where it is expected to make landfall late Saturday, early Sunday this weekend.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) has issued a hurricane and storm surge warning for all of south Florida, and the Florida Keys.
Roman Gastesi, the Monroe County Administrator warned Florida residents to leave before it’s too late as Hurricane Irma bears down on the United States.
The Florida official also warned that 911 requests will not be met by a response.
Mr Gastesti, speaking in the Florida Keys, said: “You might as well leave now while you have a chance!
